  Music Ministry

The Call- All are called to serve the Church and everyone has gifts to be used for the good of the community. We have been called to one of the most beautiful and unique ministries in the church: Music Ministry. Our call comes from God who has given us these musical gifts.
The Goal:
The goal of the ministry is to serve others. Music in the Liturgy is not an end in itself. The task of the Music Minister (singers, instrumentalists, directors) is to lead, support and enrich the assembly's sung prayer, and to bring to the Liturgy a sense of celebration. Ministry involves presence as well as task. You are more than a voice or an instrument. The level of gifts and skills of our fellow musicians may differ, but all are truly equal. Music Ministry is a way of living out the Gospel.
The Cost:
To serve in Music Ministry requires a sacrifice both of time and talent- the sacrifice of time may involve rearranging a busy schedule, committing time for rehearsals, getting up early on Sunday and getting to Mass earlier than usual. The Choir becomes richer because of the generous people (like you??) who sing God's praises and cooperate in the work of spreading the Gospel. If you would like to share your talent and be a part of the music ministry, please call the Music Director at 516-352-0146.
